Many thanks for your suggestion of GAZ shocks, however I have just fitted, with a very small amount of
fettling, a pair of KYB ( made in Japan & UK supplied at a price of £30 pair ! ) made for a Nova/Corsa.

The only mods I needed was to use the original top rubbers ( the ones supplied with the KYB's were to thick)), and to slightly reduce the width of metal insert ( in the rubber bottom eye ) as it is too wide to fit inside the mounting bracket.
