some guys have swapped B18/K20's into them, i'm putting a K24 into my escort at the minute and don't like the idea of shoe horning such a big engine into that bay haha. was hard enough navigating the 650cc lump to do the cambelt!

If you're gonna rape one, buy one with engine probs please, we appear to be losing 'em quickly.

someone down South started an Electric project, appears to have stalled with no updates for a while.
I think that's his engine on eBay? £495? a running example ruined.

Emily can tell you what's involved, well up to a point .... Em

for a good 20 mins read.....there's this with a link also to Marcairs Hayabusa somewhere inside- which does run!- that is the link to AWR, anyone care to guess what it cost Marcair if that's not his company?

another one that appears not to have made it

deep pockets required or a lot of time and skillsets above a lot of people

ECU with Project A chip won't give you more power as such, removes rev limiter, not always a good thing
gearbox is geared to hit 140kph @8.5k in 5th so more power won't mean more speed

they're not that uncommon in japan right? 20,000 is the number i think i read?

granted there's not many over this side of the water, but should someone want one enough there's always the option of importing?

what are they meant to rev to? mine hit the limiter shortly after 9 on it's maiden journey this morning!

With the yen/GBP rate as it is probably the worst time to import.

9k 1-4th, 8.5k in 5th =140kph/86mph.
sooooo easy to over rev with a chipped ECU.

With the speed limiter removed they will rev to just over 9K in 5th - just a tad over 100mph.

car looks good :)
