So the gearbox place has come back to me and the only parts they cannot get hold of to do the recon are the drive shaft seals.. everything else is all good..

Anyone got any knowledge where I can source drive shaft seals please? otherwise I am looking at probably 2 weeks for the parts to come from abroad..

Its now looking at £800+VAT for the recon... Ouch!

Yeah They quoted me £600 originally I don't mind paying a bit more if the work is done well and it is guaranteed... also... Clutches.. I am gonna put a new one in as the one in there is on the way out... Anyone had an experience of paddle, Sports or standard? Camskill are showing £123 for a standard Clutch but there are a few on ebay for cheaper..... a "Sports" one for £179 and a "Paddle" clutch for £329.. Worth the extra spend???

But yeah Drive shaft seals..... HELP!!!!

Avoid the paddle clutch, had one in my 106 rallye and it ruined the car! I would have the flywheel skimmed and lightened while it's out and look for a normal clutch for example a LUK one is a quality make. Find out some more info about the ones camskill sell...

I've lost my number for the dealers I use, I think its at work but they would help you out with the seals.

The Camskill ones are Exedy.... I think I will go with them as opposed to the Panther (Lux) Sports one for 50 quid more..

Damn this is getting expensive!!! and I haven't even started yet really...hahaha

my experiance with paddle clutches is there great for abuse but not so for everyday use as its more like an on off switch than a clutch pedal

Unfortunatly with all things car related, it can get expensive ::)

Finally!!! Got the Zato back and all is well... £1000 for a complete Gearbox Recon by Gloucester Road Gearboxes.. ouch!!! ... bit pricey but it feels all good... Except I have just had Knee Surgery and driving it around for too long hurts!!! but yeah the little bugger is on the road finally and the drive I had in it today was good fun!!

Worked out the other day that my Mitsubishi Delica L300 van is returning about 16/18 mpg so the Zato is gonna get used a lot more...

Now to approach the Zato's Body work.. wheels refurb, intercooler, air filter, exhaust etc etc etc...

Interesting to read up on the history of my car. Presuming you did actually but S761 VAB in the end.

No oil leaks, steam, weird grinding noises and stuff at the moment. All is well. Except for a leaking exhaust and pretty worn out bushes throughout the chassis from age, as well as a lot of play in one of the gearbox linkages.

Thanks for the gearbox refurb, though. Lord knows I wouldn't have been able to afford that if it was needed now! :P
