engine info on a AVANZATO TR-XXR4
afte some egnie info on a zato if any can answer that would be wicked
dose the 4 cyl, twin cam 16v, 650 come with fordged internals?
what is the factory fuel cut at?
do they use a map sensor or mass air flow sensor or read the boost levels to adjust the fuel?
has any 1 managed to chip/remap the standard ecu?
what power have people got out of them with full breathing mods i.e intake/induction kit, ported/aftermarket manifold, decat and larger bore exhaust system, raised boost to 1.1/1.2 bar after fuel cut has been removed
whats the wheels pcd and what they standard size wheels, pcd and off set
thanks in advance
Nup never had it on dyno dude. I have a full induction kit on ATM and. Had an electronic boost controller.
I wouldn't expect massive power from the zato unless your going
To spend massive amounts of cash.
Have a look at my thread if you like and they will be some pics of induction kit on there.
I'm think 150 is easily achievable with full exhaust system, decat, shorter from mounted induction kit and updated starlet or maybe even a rx7 fmic as they use them as upgrades on starlets, I'm think both the clamp type fuel cuts made by greddy and jam will work if it runs a map sencor and up the boost to 1.2 bar and if they do have fordged engines then any thing up to 1.7 bar could be used with larger injectors and piggy back ecu
I dont think the jb-jl has forged internals, only the jc-det from the storia x4 had the forged internals as it was designed to run serious boost,
People in japan have had 200bhp zatos, alledgedly. As james has said, serious tuning for these cars requires very deep pockets.
I read somewhere that the standard ecu isnt remappable so you would have to go the standalone ecu route.
Have a look at dazrans thread ("my lil daihatsu....") as he has the majority of the mods you talk about, minus the manifold but including uprated injectors and he had it dyno'd at 108 or 120bhp.
A high bhp figure isnt needed to make these cars quick though. If you are seriously looking at buying a zato then your time will be well invested in reading through the buyers guide on here that will answers some questions you may have.
im sure the zato does have forged internals from the factory, with induction kit, glanza intercooler, s/s exhaust and 1 bar boost you will achieve around 80 bhp,as mentioned japan has had 200bhp out of these cars, but that is with bigger turbo injectors, intercooler, but with just a few mods these cars are great fun
It's safe to say that 150 bhp is by no means easily achievable and definatly not cheap lol
As boulder89 said before have a lil read through my thread, that will give you some idea of performance with modifications.
I have had several dyno printouts with varying setups and all around the 103-106bhp mark
With the exception of 1 short run on the standard injectors which ran around 120ish but was wayyyy to lean to be safly run like that.
Hoping to be running nearer 130bhp next year with a few more modifications but it's defo alota fun as is, and I proudly beat my mates 285bhp starlet(but it was damp on the road)...I launched with the 4wd n he couldn't get away as fast due to wheelspin.
Oh and on a note boost wise, I wouldn't want to push past 1.5bar at absolute max, unless you don't plan on having a safe n reliable engine, I don't think it would be worth the risk lol.
I would be intregued to see the exact spec of a 200bhp jbjl engine and also wonder how often they rebuild it lol :
