Went to collect my new wheels on Sunday afternoon and had a go at fitting them onto the hubs last night. Didn't actully exspect  them to even go over the hubs but they fit perfect. I've measured the internal center bore on the original rim and the new compomotive and they look the same. ( need to bring my Verniers home)

I think I'll need some wobble nuts as the original taper on the nut doesn't seem to want to sit flush but shouldn't be a problem.

My next problem is finding out what tyres I can get away with on the rims... There 5.5" wide 14" diameter

Space looks a little tight so I don't know if any modification will have to be done. I've been looking into stretched tyres as well. Anybody have any experience?

This is a useful site for experimenting with different wheel and tyre sizes - http://www.willtheyfit.com

Well I think 165/55R14 or 165/50R14 should do the job. I'll get some old tyres and fit them onto the rims to try.

Any recommendations on wobble bolts?

I have plenty of experiance with stretched tyres lol.

They look smart dude :thumb:

With the rims only being 5.5j your limited how far you can stretch tyres as you would need really narrow tyres.

Also I've been looking into 14" tyres for stretching but for low profiles they are rather dear.

I normaly go for 165 on 7j rims, that gives a fair stretch for clearance and looks whilst still staying safe and keeping traction on the road :thumb:

Look exactly the same as my Comps Gruss, apart from the pcd - good choice, they look well.

I have 165 55 14 Bridgestone Potenza's on mine and cant recommend them enough - grip is fantastic and the gearing is as close to standard as you will get with the larger rim.

Not sure what the idea of stretch tyres makes, as the car is so light a 165 is all you need for grip and probably more importantly clearance on a road car....plus the fact it fills the arch to the very edge aswell.

My Potenza's were £72.00 each, which added to the price of my rims meant the overall amount was high, but if you are going to do something like changing the wheels/tyres might as well do it properly...and lets face it the Daihatsu doesn't wear tyres at a normal rate, so they will last.....

Yeah I've forgot about the stretched tyre idea already.

As long as I can squeeze 165/55's in then I think I'll get some pots, had them on the type r and Elise years ago and they were good!
Could you post some pictures of your car with the compomotives  :thumb:
