Just as I was nearly home today, after a 100 mile run, I booted the car as I got onto the M32 into Bristol. Big bang from the engine bay and then lots of exhaust noise
After driving it very gingerly the rest of the way home I plucked up the courage to have a look. Knowing my car I expected it to the the manifold to turbo gasket, as thats the most difficult one to do, but NO it was only the bung in the decat (where the lambda used to be) that had blown out.
No spare bung here but an old lambda sensor filled up the hole and the car is running quietly(ish) agaain
