Alto Works - Servicing
OK, as I'm looking at potentially buying one of these beasts I'm curious as to how easy to source service parts are. Do they share brakes, suspension, etc with a European spec Alto from the same era?
Any advice appreciated.
I would imagine, like the 'zato, apart from some of the body panels and interior bits, very little is shared between the models. With the car never being released in the UK I doubt suzuki themselves would be very useful either. Some people on here have had experience getting parts from Japan, best to get some feedback from them.
when i was looking for a alto works /mira i enquired at my local suzuki dealer re parts, they said service parts are not a problem but anything else would have to come from japan,i think you will find the works is a completly different beast to the uk spec alto`s.
Engine service parts will be easy enough, it's just a
DOUC DOHC F6A and service parts are easy enough to get hold of.
Don't know about other bits - it's not listed in the EBC catalogue so comparing part numbers is a bit difficult.
As long as it's not ridiculously difficult I don't mind, I won't be driving it on a daily basis ... wel maybe for a couple of weeks when I first get it but the Sei will still be my daily driver
Any websites/e-bay shops dedicated to these little machines?
we've managed to get hold of all the service parts for our mazda carol (SOHC F6A) from japan now and now that we've got em, i think quite a lot are shared with other F6A's but with different part numbers. theres plenty parts manuals available fairly cheaply through japhoo so once you have one of those you can be sure to get the right bits. online malls like rakuten.jp have a lot of aftermarket service parts and some will even ship internationally. for our beat we've always bought OEM honda parts but Carol's having the aftermarket versions and we've saved a packet.
