Big news...after much thought I have finally desided to sell the stag, I am going to fit the new dash, fit the new rear sunroof and respray the roof.
Then I will put a years mot on it and 6months tax so I can get my private plate, then it will be up for sale(hopefully November time)
Reason for selling is i have just fallen for keis and with my Zato being my main show/go car now, the Stagea would hardly get used even once I can afford insurance.
Mechanically there will be nothing wrong with it atall and I have rather large receipts for all works carried out by rising sun performance.
Viewing and test drive will be needed to appreciate it once its MOTd...however test drives will be from the passenger seat only due to the value and performance of the car.
Will post up the proper advert once its ready but I thought I'd give peeps here a heads up that its for sale :thumb:
NOPE IT'S NOT FOR SALE
Never ever in my life did I think Tracey would talk me out of selling the car...she always wanted me to sell it n she(along with most other people) have changed there minds and want me to keep it now...so with very little persuasion I am now going to keep it...only downside is that my Kei project will defo have to wait as I havnt got enough cashiola to start it.
But on the plus side I still have a 441bhp beasty to drive
Since last post I have replaced the dash, and rearsunroof, and my paint has just turned up for the roof
Will post up a full spec list this month along with some fresh pics.
I've actually been thinking of buying a Mitsubishi Galant VR4; V6 300hp and somehow thw insurance isn't much more than I paid for the Beat last year. But, GTR engine makes that look slow! Looks nice with the Skyline kit too.
Do you get much use out of the larger boot space? I'm not sure if I want a Galant or a Legnum yet. (Given that my excuse for looking at a second car is so I have something 'practical' to drive....)
Not driven it yet...still waiting till I'm 25....only 1 month to go (^_^)
Boot space is rediculas...if you folded the rear seats down I'm sure I could fit a beat or az-1 in there lol
I had a look at the gallants but desided against them due to looks and only finding autos.
I also owned a legacy gt-b which was awsum fun but the boxer engines were a pain in the rear to try n get my head round with all the vacuum lines.
I personally prefer the look of the Stagea, and the fact this 1 has the rb26 engine in n it looks like a skyline is soooo much better lol
Well I've only just turned 21 so it's even worse for me! I got a recent generic quote for a VR4 for £1600 but I can't get it that low again; they all seem to have jumped to £2300. I can't afford to buy one this year anyway, but a bit of a pain!
Was same deal for me, bought the stag when I was 21, insured it but the car all went Pete Tong(I got propa stitched).
So put it into garage for repair where it was found that so much was wrong, so combined with upgrading a few bits and getting the entire car rewired, it took over 6months in the garage.
When it came out and I tryed to reinsure it they told me I can't insure it till I'm 25 as the Stagea had changed insurance catagory!!!
So 3 and a half years latter here I am with just 1 month to go lol.
Whoop whoop got insurance for the Stagea finally yesterday...only 4 years worth of waiting lol
Sooo been working on it today, and ordered a new bonnet and some quick release bumper mounts for the front bumper(due to being so low may need removing for speed bumps lol)
Anyways status is front bumper off to be repaired where my dad broke it whilst moving it on the drive(due to being low)
And I need to try and find the wires for the speakers and power ect to extend them to behind the dash as for some reason the previous owner desided to cut them out!!!
Also going to try and find a sensible location to mount the boost controller and oil pressure gauge.
When the bonnet arrives I'll spray it up and fit it as the old bonnet had the vent bodged by the previous owner, so it filled the bonnet up with water when it rained (v_v)
And also Gona try and tidy up the paint on the roof.
Then it's off for an mot and tax, then finally I can drive and enjoy the car that has cost me sooooo much money(still paying loans for it lol)
Just a couple of pics from last year with the damaged bumper.
Oh and I forgot to update last year when I changed the dash.
Here's some pics
Here's the reason I changed the dash
Here's the car with the dash out
I'll get some new pics with the dash in once I've fitted the stereo(forgot to take some after refitting the dash)
I also fitted the new rear sunroof and rewired the roof to get all the electrics working (^_^)
Right I got it out on the roads and it was running lumpy so took it to the tuners(now called bell automotive center) and they put it on the Dyno and found the Ecu was glitching so they updated all the software on both the Ecu and the laptop and then remapped it and it's now running spot on (^_^)
I've also took it round to a local body shop who comes highly recommended and got a quote for a full respray as it's rather shabby where it's been stored for 4years...so it's now booked in for a full respray(same colour) in May which unfortunately is the 1st empty space he has as he is fully booked till then!!!
Just been tidying up a few bits here and there, like given the engine bay a clean(see pic), cleaned the interior slightly, got all the sound system working and wired in subs, changed theair filters, ect (^_^)
