Today I got a new MOVE
Big thanks to our resident Move rep Dazzan, he collected MOTd and got ready for the road my new MOVE to replace Rambo (who was very poorly after his UK tour) .
Took a few hours to get home because of the large carpark between him and me (AKA M25) but we are home safe and sound no mishaps no dramas...
Plans are to get this all up and sorted so its uber reliable, put on the alloys i got earlier, change the radio... then carry on the plans for the next super long distance drive ... the Atlantic Way on the West Coast of Ireland all 1500 miles of it... But thats for Easter 2015.
The last one was rather "worn" and TBH the cost of getting the old one sorted would of bene more than the cost of this one...So economically it was sound to sell it on and get this one... Just gone and got all the service items like oil and filters, so that this week sorted out.
Booked it into a friend of mine who does detailing and cleaning, big job, clean it inside outside on top and underneath, waxoil it and get some polish onto the car.
This one is way way to nice to paint green!!!
Enjoying it tremendously already
Well I have been using the car for a few weeks and its rather nice... I think the clutch is going as the bite is fairly low now... (not unexpected from being park dup so long) and the rear shoes are shagged (must get around to changing them soon). BUT its amazing what a mop and bucket of water can do, especially in the hands of someone who cows how to mop and bucket a car....
All i need now is to sort out the Alloys with a Black powder coat and a diamond cut to the faces, replace the drives indicated (as its cracked) replace the passenger mirror (as its cracked) then its finished... Interior wise I need a bit of harness to be fixed ... Plans are still to leave it as is, unless i can find one with electric windows and central locking then swap all those parts over...
Been working on FAP today, changed the wiring harness for the radio that had been cut to fit an old Sony tape player (yuk) I now have my radio / cd player fitted and it all works.
I also changed the passenger side door mirror (who decided to screw it on from the outside with one screw and on the inside with a nut??? STUPID IDEA).
Having picked up from eBay a Daihatsu accessory clock for a Move (surprising when your on the way to work how useful clock is!) and fitted that.
The gear linkage was broken when I got the car, I found it the bush at the bottom of the selector rod had popped out, so I clicked it back in place and het presto I have gears!! (see the red circle for the bush that popped out)
Last on the list of this mornings work is a new front number plate.. in the A Typical JDM style. The rear number plate can wait as I have to clean up the spare bumper then fit it before I can bolt on the new number plate.
OHHH forgot to say also swapped the rear shoes for new ones, no more GRATTTTTTTT noise when I stop now.
New clutch is next big job but will do everything to avoid that !
