Thanks Andy! Little jobs, one step at a time I guess.

Shot-blasted the radiator mounts the other day, ready for painting now. Much better than rust. B)

The majority of the servicing bits should be arriving this week. :)

More bits and bobs have been arriving over the past week.

Never had that much luck with Blue Print parts for my Mira, but since the Nippa is a more common car I'm guessing it should be fine. Interestingly, the fuel filter and oil filter are the same as my Mira. B)

Some more stuff arrived:

I was right not to start and run the car. The old timing belt had began to split and was in pretty poor shape.

New one on:

Auxiliary belt, for anyone who is interested.

Spark plugs were definitely due a change:

Ran into an issue with one of the HT leads falling apart, so I'm currently on the hunt for a new one.

Also gave the engine a flush and an oil change with a new oil filter. Still need to change the fuel and air filter and I want to clean or replace the cabin filter. Nothing exciting I know, but little steps at least. B)

Another small update:

Finally got round to ordering a new air filter. Also ordered a set of PowerTec HT leads which should work rather nicely.
Radiator mounts have been painted and fitted to the car. Contemplating shot blasting the radiator support and repainting that as well, but we'll see.

Might have an issue with a leaky radiator which might've been why the car was initially parked up in the first place. It appears that there might be a tiny pinhole in the centre of the rad which appears to be leaking the smallest amount of steam imaginable. Not a problem though, new radiators are available for £45, but I'm going to do a little more investigating before I purchase one.

If anyone's interested, or owns a car with a Daihatsu ED-20 850cc engine (such as an L501 Cuore or L601 Move) and wants to know what parts I've used so far:

Timing Belt Kit - Blue Print ADD67304
Spark Plugs - NGK Iridium BPR5EIX x 3
Fuel Filter - Blue Print ADD62326
Oil Filter - Blue Print ADD62104
Air Filter - Perodua 17801-87206
HT Leads - PowerTec PT521 (These don't fit, so don't bother).

I've put on a set of 100w ultra bright H4 headlight bulbs and blue 501 side light bulbs. Also used 10w40 semi synthetic engine oil (2.6L with a new oil filter) and used some Carlube engine flush before that to get any old engine gunk out.

Plenty more to do. New gearbox oil and a new exhaust are still needing to be done, as well as new brake pads, discs, shoes as well as a full brake fluid flush and swap, and a complete rebleed. Also need a new pair of rear tyres and the front ones need to be balanced. The wiper linkage seems very stiff so that'll need regreasing, as well as all of the window linkages. Oh, and a new battery. Probably some underseal, too. B)

Almost forgot I had this old boss kit that was initially purchased for my Mira. Didn't quite spline correctly, however I've got a feeling that it was meant for the older versions of the Mira, so I'll see if it fits the Nippa. Should feel fantastic with a smaller steering wheel. Purchased some red, closed ended wheel nuts for the new wheels as well, which should look pretty smart.

Also took this picture a little while ago when my friend was changing the spark plugs on his M3

Got my new air filter and HT Leads. The air filter is fine, but the HT leads are wrong, so don't buy them (for anyone that's looking for a new set).

Also changed the fuel filter, so the car only gets the cleanest burnout juice:

Plenty more to do!

Currently for sale, if anyone's interested.

Unfortunately, due to both a lack of space and two other projects that are demanding more of my attention as well as money, the Nippa is going to have to go fairly soon.

Price is completely negotiable, but I'm looking for realistic offers based on the amount of work that's gone into it so far.The car has very low milage at just 31,936.

Since I've owned it, it's had:

Engine flush and oil change (using Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 semi-synthetic oil)
New oil filter
New air filter
New fuel filter
New NGK Iridium spark plugs
New timing belt and tensioner
13" Mira Avanzato alloy wheels
Hoso racing red wheel nuts
100w extra bright H4 headlight bulbs and ice blue sidelight bulbs

Currently needs:

A new rear exhaust silencer (£60.94 on eBay)
One tyre
Battery

The interior could do with a clean up. My plan was to rent a Rug Doctor and do all three of my cars (my BMW is particularly grotty and gross from years of neglect), but I haven't got round to it just yet. Also included is a boss kit which may or may not fit (haven't got round to it yet).

If nobody wants it as it is then I'll continue chipping away at it until it's completely roadworthy, get an MOT then advertise it properly. Alternatively it could make for a simple, easy project for someone looking for a cheap Kei-(almost!).

Offers welcome. Feel free to shoot me a message and we'll sort something out. B)
