And you managed to colour match all the leads and tubes.

Many thanks. I've been looking for a second set of wheels for some time as it's a bit of a chore swapping summer/winter tyres twice a year, but the options are some what limited as you know.

Have you maybe considered trying to find a set of UK Spec Cuore L501 alloy wheels to run in the winter or something? Should be more common than Avanzato wheels at least, and still come in the 4x110 PCD fitment.

Thanks a lot. I've been out of the country/out of action since mid-winter and just got it back on the road, still with the winter tyres on though. So I'll look out for some.

It's a shame they're hidden by the cover!

Just a little update since I haven't posted anything for a while.

The car is currently off the road (partly because it no longer has an MOT, but also because I'm reluctant to drive it in the winter because of the salt on the roads).

Going to be looking into an issue with the brakes where they feel kind of wooden and without any bite. They've always been like this since I've owned the car, even after a pad/rear shoe change, new discs and a full re-bleed. So there's something else going on there. One of my calipers is also binding, so I'm looking into getting a replacement. Hopefully I can source a pair of new or reconditioned items from Japan.

Suspension is another issue that is still lingering. Whilst the current set up is "okay" it's far from ideal. Everything is very bouncy, due to the age of the components on the car. So hopefully, at some point next year, I'll be looking into getting a set of brand new KYB New SR shock absorbers and some GReddy lowering springs from Japan.

The turbo coolant return line has also began leaking. Only ever so slightly, and nothing that has shown as a reduction in coolant levels in the car. But again, it's another issue that I'll be looking to address. Not sure whether I can get some braided lines made up as coolant and oil return/feed lines to the turbo, or if it's even worth it. Ultimately a new (well, reconditioned) turbo could be purchased from Japan as a replacement.

Other things I'm hoping to tackle next year are the rear arches, since they've started to bubble, as well as getting my front bumper resprayed. This has always been very dull in comparison to the paint on the rest of the car, so a freshen up would be good. Have also toyed with the idea of going for a new paint job entirely, but it's a lot of effort.

Finally giving the car some attention again before Japfest. My priorities over the last year or so have been with building the BMW and drifting. So it's certainly overdue!

Currently in the process of replacing the old steel fuel lines for new copper/nickel ones.

Forgot that I had a set of clear indicator lenses, purchased over a year ago:

Also added some bottle cap bolt covers for the number plates, that I got on my last Japan visit. Oh, and pressed number plates, too!

Whilst the fuel lines are being done, I'm also preparing the bumpers for some paint, since they're looking pretty tired/flat.

Bye bye stickers! :(

This felt very wrong...

Paint prep is pretty tedious!

And that's pretty much where I'm up to! Also adding some door trims which came off Joe's L502s Avanzato. B)

Just ordered a set of GReddy lowering springs and a replacement clear headlight (finally!) Should make the car look a lot smarter. Also currently looking at shock absorber options.

Picked up a bunch of spare parts from Scott as well! And also an entire spare gearbox/transfer box! (Thanks again, dude!) ;)

More bodywork!

I also received a special delivery from Japan (thanks Gavin!) A set of GReddy BL Lowering springs, and finally a replacement headlight to replace the one that had a bulb explode in it.

New bits (as well as my surviving clear headlight)

Old rear springs (definitely due a change!)

And the new ones in place:

Tomorrow, the fronts! As well as continuing with fuel lines and paint prep... Fun fun

Zapped the fronts off today.

Spring compressors are terrifying...

One down!

And both done.

And done. I'm guessing they might settle a little more over the next few days. Still not as low as I'd like it, but it's better than it was I suppose.

Added some new red steel wheel nuts:

Fuel lines all done! Looking really neat and tidy, too!

Added a new set of Denso IK27 Iridium plugs.

And a bunch of these fancy engine bay bolts!

Started to prep my radiator support, ready for paint:

And more bumper repairs/prep:

My MOT tester was going on holiday the next day, so I needed to get the car in for an MOT before he went away, to give me any chance of making it to Japfest. So, the bumpers had to go back on temporarily.

Luckily we passed! Smack on 100,000 miles, too!

Masking:

And with filler primer on!

Etch primer on the radiator support:

The insert in the front bumper works as a cool stencil, too:

Added some stickers whilst waiting for everything to dry:

Ready for paint!

And done!

Whilst everything was baking, I gave the car a wash in preparation for Japfest (the next day!)

Bumpers on, and car polished:

And done. Made it just in time for Japfest.

A few snaps from the show:

Had a really good day with the gang. Plenty of new faces, too!

In other news, I changed my fuel filter today. That's pretty much where I'm up to right now. Still need to put on my replacement Avanzato R4 sticker on the rear bumper.
