For daily use and reliability I would go with a DOHC F6A engine as well as access to parts as the SOHC and 550cc variants could never get the power figures out of a stock engine like the twin cams.

If you haven't gotten one yet, you should! I got one earlier this year when they became legal in the states and I absolutely love the thing. ended up doing a full rebuild on the engine and other than chasing a few small issues, it's a blast of a car to own. do it!

Mine is a SOHC and just two wheel drive. Parts are a bastard to find in the UK, but i did source them from directly from Suzuki. Some parts are on back order 28 days from japan!

For your interest there is a video of a Alto that Motec did running 200bhp ath 4wd with a little shot of nos!

ooh I would like to see that video! Alto parts are near impossible to get here in the states too. I ended up importing all my parts from Japan :p

ive had my alto stateside for months now and im still looking for parts performance parts at a fair price. no luck. the racing ecu is 900 bucks!
